Milpitas, California, June 10, 2026:Prof. Dr. Prakash Divakaran, Vice-Chancellor of Himalayan University, Arunachal Pradesh, delivered the keynote address at the First Sanskrit Annual International Conference organized by Aria University in association with SYAAM at Milpitas, California, USA. The conference was held under the theme “Sanskrit as a Global Knowledge System: Integrating Ancient Wisdom with Modern Technology.”

Addressing an international gathering of scholars, academicians, researchers, and Sanskrit enthusiasts, Prof. Dr. Divakaran emphasized the timeless relevance of Sanskrit as one of the world’s most scientific and knowledge-rich languages. He highlighted the significant contributions of Sanskrit to diverse fields such as philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, medicine, linguistics, environmental studies, and artificial intelligence.

In his keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Divakaran observed that Sanskrit is not merely a classical language but a comprehensive knowledge system that has preserved humanity’s intellectual heritage for millennia. He stressed the importance of integrating traditional Sanskrit wisdom with contemporary technological advancements to address global challenges and promote sustainable development.

The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the structured grammar and logical framework of Sanskrit make it highly relevant in the era of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and computational linguistics. He called upon universities and research institutions across the world to foster interdisciplinary research that bridges ancient Indian knowledge traditions with modern scientific inquiry.

Highlighting the role of higher education institutions, Prof. Dr. Divakaran shared the initiatives undertaken by Himalayan University in promoting Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Sanskrit studies, and value-based education. He emphasized the need to create global academic collaborations to advance research in Sanskrit and indigenous knowledge traditions.

The conference also featured distinguished speakers including Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, eminent scholars Anand Kuchibhotla and Prabhakar Kalavacherla, along with several academicians and researchers from different countries. The event included panel discussions on Sanskrit, technology, education, and cultural heritage.
